As the moon represents the feminine and emotional aspects of our self, a lunar eclipse brings an opportunity to peer into the shadows of these aspects where we may find unresolved emotional issues, traumas, and fears. Whatever is revealed, is shown to us to enable us to move into greater health and wholeness. This full moon/eclipse was in the sign of Taurus, an earth sign relating to our physical world, material survival and security, and bringing ideas into lasting material expression.
The energies of the universe are in constant flow in the world and in us.
While the full moon/lunar eclipse was an “event,” the energies before, during, and after have effect in our lives. Our evolution as individuals is a continuous process. As you review your experiences before, during, and after the eclipse, you may discern thematic threads or related occurrences offering you guidance.
I will begin by sharing my full moon/eclipse experience in the hope that as an example, it makes more understandable the ways the energies of the universe awaken us and move us forward in our own evolution.
In my case, this full moon eclipse took place in my 5th house, the house of creativity. This suggested that the full moon/eclipse would reveal to me influences hindering my efforts to bring my creative ideas into form. Recently, I had been inspired to start a once a month Zoom Chat open to anyone and focused on topics I hoped would be of shared interest and benefit. I decided to call these sessions “Let’s Talk” and scheduled them for the 3rd Thursday of each month. This month’s session would take place on the night of the full moon, and I was filled with self-doubt and worries about providing a meaningful experience for participants.
My first guidance arrived in a dream a few nights before the eclipse. I wasn’t surprised when this dream revealed financial fears. I’ve wrestled with money worries as I have endeavored to grow my coaching/astrology business. I was, however, surprised by the dream’s revelation of self-judgment and unworthiness related to work experiences of the past. I thought I had long ago made peace with all the experiences of my work life and was startled to discover that was not completely true. On some deeper level, a wound still lingered.
The morning of the full moon, a text message from a friend brought help related to this wound. The friend told me she had done distance Reiki on me the previous night and that while doing it, she had heard snippets of a song. Sensing the song was a message for me, she wrote, “I heard this loud and clear, ‘Sing, sing a song…’ by the Carpenters. Look at the Lyrics.” I did immediately. What jumped out at me were the words “Don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song.” Just exactly the encouragement I needed before launching Let’s Talk that evening.
That evening, I hosted my first Let’s Talk entitled Work: Cosmic Forces and Your Personal Journey. Participants were enthusiastic, shared openly, and expressed gratitude to one another and for the time together. I felt happy and breathed easier.
The day following the eclipse further guidance arrived. I had a phone conversation with a long-time friend and experienced school administrator. She shared that she and two colleagues wanted to create a forum in which women administrators in NH could come together to share challenges and concerns and provide support for one another. She asked if I would be interested in facilitating their first meeting. She talked about the unique challenges she and other female administrators face in a work world still dominated by masculine models of leadership. I recognized my own experiences in these stories and realized our conversation was shedding light on the unhealed wound still impacting my sense of self and my confidence in my work.
The struggles of being female in a very masculine world are not unique to our time. Women have experienced them for centuries. As women, we carry within us energetically the wounds of our female ancestors as well as our own and those of the women of today. The truth is we are all one. We are fully connected in the energetic matrix of this world and what happens to a woman or women in any part of the world, happens to us. Healing for all of us will come through a rebalancing of the masculine and feminine energies in our world. And this rebalancing will only be achieved through our efforts.
